ISABEL PORCH

South Wales printmaker and designer Isabel Porch turns to the tale of Taliesin, one of Wales’s most enduring myths. Her series of four prints follows the story from Gwion Bach’s flight from Ceridwen to his rebirth as the bard Taliesin. The imagery moves between movement and stillness, from flight and pursuit to symbols of ocean, fire and vessel. Together they conjure a tale of metamorphosis, destiny and inspiration, told with the bold, tactile marks of Isabel’s printmaking.

Isabel’s wider practice combines traditional and contemporary methods, always guided by curiosity and a deep connection to place and heritage. In these prints, she brings her fascination with Welsh story and folklore to the fore, reimagining one of its most famous figures for today’s audiences.
