This two‑day practical workshop introduces participants to the foundations of hand‑printed wallpaper design using lino blocks, paper stencils, and silk screens.
The course combines accessible entry‑level techniques with professional studio processes, enabling participants to design and print bespoke wallpaper panels inspired by pattern and surface design. Participants will develop their own motifs, learn how repeat patterns work, and create a unique printed wallpaper panel to take home.
Participants will:
Understand how repeat patterns function in wallpaper design.
Create their own lino block and paper stencils.
Learn how to print using both lino blocks and screen‑printing.
Gain confidence in colour mixing, registration, and layering techniques.
Leave with a collection of printed samples and a final wallpaper panel.
Workshop Focus:
Developing simple motifs and patterns through drawing and collage
Learning lino‑cutting techniques and safe tool use
Creating paper stencils for screen‑printing
Combining lino and screen processes to build layered designs
Printing a final wallpaper panel using hand‑crafted blocks and stencils
