Alban Arthan & the Moon
7 November - 24 December
To mark the changing of seasons, this exhibition explores decay as part of the cycle of life, where endings make way for beginnings. Inspired by nature and Welsh folklore, it reflects on the hidden life of trees, the cycles of the Moon, and the transformations taking place beyond our sight. In Welsh tradition, the winter solstice is known as Alban Arthan – the light of winter. Marking the shortest day and longest night, it signals the gradual return of the light. Bringing together installations by Donna Heath Bowen and Kirsten Tanner, inspired by roots, trees and new growth, with an immersive sound and projection work by Jacob Whittaker, the exhibition invites us to consider what remains unseen, and wonder at the changes already taking place around us.
