Join photographer Mohamed Hassan for a one-day photography workshop that emphasises how storytelling in photography can enrich your creative skills and deepen your appreciation for visual narratives.
In the morning you’ll be introduced to the significance of storytelling and explore how narratives can evoke emotions and connect with view. In a supportive, and friendly environment you’ll have the opportunity to analyse iconic photographs and have a go at selecting images using Mohamed’s photographic archive to form your own visual narratives.
In the afternoon, you will learn about Mohamed’s project, Threads of Belonging: An Allergy of Identity, which is a powerful exploration of migration, identity, and belonging in contemporary Wales. Through collaborative portraiture, landscapes, and symbolic imagery, Mohamed’s work will weave together personal and collective narratives that reflect the evolving cultural fabric of Wales. You’ll be invited to share your own thoughts and perspectives of these themes, before learning some practical camera skills and embarking on a group photo-walk.
There will also be an opportunity for collective feedback and discussion before finishing the day.
