To coincide with Oriel Myrddin’s autumn exhibition, Bywyd Llonydd / Still Life, we welcome Buddug as our featured maker.

Buddug is a designer-maker, originally from Eryri in North Wales and now based in Cardiff with her family. Her work is deeply rooted in her Welsh upbringing, drawing inspiration from literature, landscape and culture. These influences shape the stories she builds into her jewellery and objects. 

Drawing and handwriting are at the heart of Buddug's practice. Inspired by old-fashioned pen-and-ink lettering, she explores the decorative qualities of words and imagery, and the stories and meanings they can hold. 

For Bywyd Llonydd / Still Life, we invite you to look closely at the details, patterns and words within Buddug's work, and discover the stories woven into each piece.

Buddug’s work will be available to view and purchase in our gallery shop alongside the opening of our new exhibition.
